for those who want something special as each candle is an original work of decorative art. Hand-coloured & hand-sculptured, they are finished
with a porcelain-like glaze – so their beauty
is long lasting. Each Baptism Candle is signed under. Created in

Hand Sculptured Beauty

“I love  making Baptism Candles because they're such an important part of the ceremony." says Lucy

Each Baptism Candle she makes is a beautiful  image of believing in Jesus. Her Baptism Candles artistically and symbolically link the Christened Name and Day, with Jesus Christ.

In the rite of Baptism the Baptised infant experiences a spiritual awakening becoming a child of God, and a follower of the love of Jesus.

It is the lighting of the Baptismal Candle that symbolises this spiritual rebirth,  with words similar to, "Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16).  As the Baptism Candle’s light represents the Light of Jesus Christ.  Jesus said "I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life." (John 8:12)

And during the Baptism ceremony the family and godparents share in the spiritual experience of holding this “Light” - the lit candle. So it is important the Baptism Candle is beautiful.

Afterwards, the Baptism Candle is usually kept as a keepsake reminder that the light of Christ has entered the child.

This is where the long lasting beauty of Lucy’s Baptism Candles is important. The top of each of her Baptism Candles is hollowed out to accept disposable tea-lights, so the Baptism Candle can glow on anniversaries, and for Prayers, Praise and Comfort for years

The importance of Baptism Candles

The Baptism Candle’s light facilitates the spiritual acceptance of the ‘Light’ and love of Jesus

“I baptise you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
